Vision

Our vision is to be the best representation of Christ’s body on earth that we possibly can. There’s a way to go on that.

We believe we have been put together for a purpose. Not just to enjoy the Christian life (there’s none better) or even to benefit by worshipping and praying and learning together (that’s good, too).

We believe we have a God-given assignment. Most people don’t know that you can know God personally, and probably don’t care. However, the consumer-led life doesn’t satisfy for long. It feels shallow, because it is. It can seem pointless, because it doesn’t point to heaven.

We have something good, enduring and inexhaustible and we want to give it away. Not by coercion or confrontation or odd behaviour, but by letting the light and love be seen, so others can allow themselves to be drawn to it.

Values

We love one another. It’s not soppy, its real and at times, accountable and costly. This is where everything starts for the Christian – first receiving God’s love, as a consequence being able to love ourselves and others.

We don’t do old-fashioned religion. The outward form can really get in the way. People today are looking for what works, and we are on that journey.

Jesus is at the centre. Jesus really is the answer. We give serious regard to what He would say, or do. It’s well documented in His book of books, the Bible, which is our yardstick.

To make this more than a slogan, prayer is a priority. Jesus modelled this, and said He sought only to do what He saw the Father doing. We know we can punch far above our weight and bring beneficial change well beyond the fellowship, by prayerful engagement with a God who loves to give and bless and restore.

It not all success and plain sailing (when it is, the glory goes to God). Life hands out some tough situations, and that’s usually where we grow the most. We stick together, share the burdens, and don’t go the world’s way of the ‘blame game’, criticism and negativity. We’re learning to help each other to praise God in all situations – our way of affirming that, by our choice, He is in control and brings good outcomes out of seeming impossibilities.
