This Sunday (March 7)
Family Service – highly suitable for families and children – with church ploughman’s style lunch following. Everybody welcome.
Next Sunday (March 14)
Rev Calvin Julian-Jones is preaching and the worship leader, also leading the band, is Grant Slocombe. In the afternoon there will be a tea for members from 3pm to 5pm approx. This is a time for people to get to know Calvin and his wife, Heather and there will be a question and answer session. Calvin is a candidate to become Pastor of Sindlesham Baptist Church and a special members’ meeting will be held on Thursday, March 18 for the sole purpose of discerning whether this is God’s call to both Calvin and the church at this time.
If you’re not a member and you’re reading this, we apologise that this needs to be restricted to members only but of course you are more than welcome to come to the morning service, as is always the case.
– Rev Ian Greig, Moderator
Services generally
A feeling of one-ness, contemporary songs, lots of participation and teaching from the Bible which helps with life. Refreshments afterwards. Children are in the church for the initial praise time, about 15 or 20 minutes, then go out for their own activities in Sunday Club.
Start time is at 10.30am or a little before and we’re generally in the coffee queue by 11.50am although there is freedom and timings vary a bit. The feeling is informal and dress is, for most people, distinctly casual. Just be yourself!
The Sunday meeting is the main time to give our praise to God, and be filled, encouraged and equipped by Him.
We believe that meetings in homes in the week are just as important for our growth. This is where the relationships can form and we can ‘take to heart’ the teaching given on Sunday.
